Gus the Schnauzer

HERE IS GUS!

This photo says it all. One handsome dog!

He is full of life.

A character of sorts and a push over for sure!

I'll post often about "Gus"...life is full with him around.

"Gustav" is his proper name

"Gus" for short

"Gus-Gus" when we call him in from outside...

and "COOKIE"! if we need him right away!

Strange how quickly he comes then??

We thought about calling him.."Bob the Barker"...
(some of you will catch on!)

and "Shadow" since he is behind me everywhere...But...somehow he needed a name of heritage..after all he is of German decent and so am I!

So, what better name than Gustav.

I'll post some photos on another post of "Gus" growing up. He came to live with us at the young age of 5 weeks!

How he has grown and given us happy happy days!

Wonder what's under Gus' Quilt

Do you see me? PEEK A BOO!
You can rub my tummy now!

He can be quite creative in his antics! I just happen to have my camera handy (but of course! what is blogging without great photos!)

I love to catch him at his best!

I hope you enjoyed this and the many stories to come of "GUS" and his adventures....

and Yes...more with his Quilt!

That Special Dress

I remember as a child, a friend of my mother's making me a dress. I will never forget how "special" I felt. Just for me, a cute sailor dress. I remember being fitted for it and in awe of it's creation. It meant a lot to me. I suppose that is why it is a pleasure for me, to make sweet dresses for little girls.

If you visit my blog... This is the day... you will read about my sweet granddaughters and their fun times. They also love horses (now I know why they want to be Vets' when they grow up!)...so for one of the girls we chose cowboy/cowgirl fabric in making her a new dress. Adding the fringe was so much fun...it just made it complete, and in my ribbon box...there it was, a small rope! PERFECT!

This pattern is so simple and fun.
I made both the girls the same dress, only reversed the fabrics. One in pink with black polka dots and the other black with pink polka dots. They looked adorable going to church Sunday in their new dresses.

I have another one to make this week...a cute pink, white and black plaid. Now my imagination is soaring.

A poodle on the skirt?

We'll think on that one...an applique definitely would make this a special dress, maybe a nice black satin ribbon or bow.

My next post...helping my daughter make a disappearing nine patch QUILT!

Thank you for stopping by...please leave any creative suggestions...they are always welcome!
