Homemade Energy Bars..yummy!

 TO YOUR HEALTH!

Home Made Healthy Energy Bars

2 Cups Instant Oats (you can use whole oats but needs a little water added to be moist)
1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 Cup Wheat Germ
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Sea Salt

MIX DRY INGREDIENTS ...set aside.

In separate bowl mix WET ingredients:

1/2 Cup Canola Oil(measure the oil first, then the honey for easy pouring)
1/2 Cup Honey
1 Egg
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Blend WET ingredients gradually into dry ingredients...
ADD...your choice of the following one or combined

1/2 cup nuts (Pecans..Walnuts) 1/2 cup dried berries or apricots or raisins

3/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Spray a 13 X 9 pan with PAM spray and spread granola evenly in pan. I use the back of a sprayed spatula to make sure it is evenly laid out.

You can use a cookie sheet if you prefer a thinner granola.

BAKE at 35O degrees....for 20-30 minutes.

Do NOT over bake or it will be dry. Should be just golden brown. I bake mine 20 min.

Cut into bars while cooling and still some-what soft.

I recently made them using dried mixed Berries and it was WONDERFUL! Yummy!

ENJOY ....To your health!!

A friend made a request for this recipe I had posted  while back on Watering Wells Of Hope under Heatlhly eating.

Wow, these look good. This is almost the exact same recipe we use and my kids love them. I had to laugh at your comment on my last post about my upside down book! I had not even noticed so I went to investigate and found it was printed upside down! I had to laugh as I am a perfectionist I thought it would bother me but it does'nt it adds some charater and will be a great coversation piece! I hope you are all well, and I love seeing Aubrey's pictures from overseas it is beautiful!

No wonder I couldn't find the recipe yesterday! I was on the wrong blog! I eventually did find it....after digging around in my cookbooks and loose recipes in the kitchen. I knew it was there somewhere! I had to substitute all purpose for the whole wheat flour, but they turned out fine. I used mini chocolate chips and dried cranberries.

Hi, Hope!!
I just made your energy bars. I used dried cherries and forgot nuts. But the Lord knew it should be that way because I also forgot one of our daughters does not care for them! :) Anyway, they were terrific!! Thanks for posting the recipe.
Love,

Very Yummy! I made them and substituted Emerald Cocoa Almonds for the pecans. They were soooo delicious. I also threw in a handful of Ghiradelli Milk Chocolate Chips. My son has requested these bars be in his baseball gear bag for all of his tournaments. Thank you for sharing.
