Love filled Sewing

I'm taking time in the next few weeks to sew for two of my g'daughters. I love this very simple pattern. It makes up so cute. When my daughter was visiting in the Spring we made this pattern in two, reversed pink/black polka-dots.

This one in the photo is an adventure! I am hoping it will be as cute as I imagine...

a European "Swiss" look...you know Heidi of the Alps!

(actually as I type this post- I have it nearly done- Cute!)

Gus (my wonderful Schnauzer..wanted to SEE what was keeping me so busy)

I was given this fabric sometime ago by a sweet quilting friend...they seemed the perfect combination for my creative idea! I added green checked straps and plan to purchase some large green buttons. Debating on ric rac trim?

The next jumper will be a little on the dressy side...I made the gathered flower to either put on the jumper or might be cute glued to a black headband!!

I am also thinking of putting a appliqued poodle on the skirt. We'll see.

I find so much pleasure in sewing for my g'daughters, imagining them wearing what I've made. I can still recall the first handmade dress I was given. It meant so much to me. I hope my g'daughters remember these dresses when they are older...and the time Nana spent using her Creative Heart...for them.

Blessings...
HOPE~

My "baby girls" are 11 and 13 now but I used to absolutely LOVE sewing dresses and jumpers for them when they were toddlers. It was my favorite age to sew for. :) Over the years, I saved my "favorites" for them to, Lord willing, use with their own babies some day. :) You're creating treasures for them.

Oh, I am so sure that they will remember and remember with love, all that you have done for them. The jumpers are going to be so nice and special. I love the hairbow idea.

You are so gifted. I am sure that it is a real joy to sew for those that you love so dearly. I get the same satisfaction from cooking for the ones I love. I, too, hope all the many meals that I have made them with love and so much thought. Well, it is late and I must get some rest in the next hours before the alarm goes off saying it is time for a new day. lol love you, connie

Yes I'm sure they will love their new dresses Nana made them! Especially if they find a doggie on it that looks like gus! Looking forward to seeing them:)

Hello, Oskar here. JD & Max just e-mailed me when they realized that Gus's blog was gone.

We are all hoping that everything is O.K., we're a bit worried.

We all loved hearing about Gus & will miss him.

A poodle applique??? How about a Schnauzer instead??? Gus says, 'Paws up!' I want to see the jumpers when you finish! I agree with the verse about the Proverbs woman---I KNOW God knows how much I love being a homemaker...did you know that Handyman calls me his 'Housemuffin'? That is fine with me. Nothing like a cozy, clean home with laundry done, good food to eat, and peace and quiet. I love to be at home!

I used to sew for my daughter, and some for my son--made him a bathrobe one time. Made my daughter dresses--I kept one that I made her--perhaps I should blog about it??

That is SO sweet of you!! My mother can sew things and make them look store bought, but she has never sewn my girls anything at all. I know this will mean a lot to them when they are older and rememeber their grandmother putting precious time into dresses for them.
