I have journeyed on many paths of crafts and most self-taught, so please don't mind some of the "learning curves" that might be very evident!
There are so many things that fulfill a homemaker... one of these is crafts made by hand.
And great pleasure is found in giving them to others as gifts of the heart.
However, one that is hard to give away... (for me)...are QUILTS!
These seem to hold the most love as each piece of fabric is stitched in place and a memory of some sort woven into these threads. I can't believe that any Quilt homemade does not take the HEART of the maker with it. So I release some of mine with each that I create.
This mini quilt was made for my son who is currently serving in Iraq. I wanted to express to him my thankfulness for his service to our great country America. On the back I embroidered his name with God Bless You, the year and of course...
"made with love from Mom"
I never regret giving them away..of course!
...but the joy of making it for the receiver is what is hard to part with...
and so I go on to another....
then that void is filled with more....journeys of a Creative Heart!
She seeketh wool, and flax,
and worketh willingly with her hands.
Proverbs 31:13

I finally found it through your profile!
Yea..you found me!
I think this is going to be a fun journey!!
I know I'm going to love this blog! I need to get back to making my first sampler quilt, but I have so many things to do right now. Maybe that will be a new year's project.
oh this is going to be fun...HOPE...I might have to do the same as I love doing a bit of this and that....I am sure giving something like a quilt away is like parting with yourself...maybe...you should make little hot pads..that aren't so cumbersome and time consuming, yet you can share still part of your heart.....or placemates...or..or...
I always have several projects going on....so maybe I should do the same...will think about it...
