A WESTERN THEME banquet was recently held at my church.
I was asked to make a SNAKE!
SNAKE??? For a game of (hot potato) snake style...A HOT RATTLER!
I decided...WHY NOT? make this one of those HEATING PADS for the WINNER!
I searched for fabric and found this at Walmart! It was ideal!
So I filled him with RICE to double as a warming pad for aches and pains.
I wracked my brain, trying to think of a way to make the RATTLE sound...no, a baby rattle was too big..the ones I found anyway...and then...THE LIGHT BULB CAME ON..in the candy section...as PEOPLE watched me shake every candy container in the aisle...
What crafters MUST do ...to be CREATIVE!!
I found this tic tac type candy (love the name on the box) and made an added sac to the end that could be removed after the game.
IT WORKED...I must tell you...PERFECTLY!!!
The sound was grrrreat! and the FEEL of the rice made it more...well, you know..SNAKEY!
So here HE is...with his felt tongue ready to bite...his rattler shaking as it was thrown about the ring...might add.. I DID double stitch all over and one part came open..
ROUGH TOUGH COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS gave this SNAKE a challenge!!
RICE began to go everywhere..as they would not give up..
WYATT ERP wouldn't have either... so one brave cowboy..twisted his neck and the round went on to a final WINNER!!!
No more aches and pains for that COWBOY! He's got one heated up snake to wrap around his neck! or walk around on his shoulder.
He should have been an Indian..so we could name him..BRAVE SNAKE MAN..
If you know a name for this Cowboy..let us know!
Just a CREATIVE idea...you might need one day!
