I made another tote bag for the lady that gave me this lovely Tea Cup for my birthday. She works with a young woman at our church and when she heard they were putting a Birthday/Get Well basket together...she wanted to be a part of it.
This lovely tea cup (I adore!) belonged to her grandmother! She said in her card that the tea cup is very old. Her grandmother died of Breast Cancer and she was so touched hearing about my cancer journey that she wanted to reach out...in her own special way. And she did. I was moved to tears when I opened this...I've chatted with her but a few brief times.
I in turn wanted to show how much her gift meant to me, by making something myself..with my own hands and heart.
This tote is similar to one I made my mother..but I added the trim ribbon underneath the brown polka dot to set it off...and I love the fabric for the bottom.
Just a "fat quarter" in my collections...amazing how one pattern will just pop out at you and look so different than when you viewed it many times before! I felt this fabric made it look a bit "dressy" and appropriate for this lady's gift. The little bit of PINK as a reminder of who it was from and why.
I am so glad that I came upon this tote idea...everyone loves them and I find so much enjoyment in making them and giving them away.
Maybe I'll do a give away soon...with a HOPE TOTE!
Blessings..
HOPE
